There is some really great analysis of how food is gendered, women sexually objectified and meat manly so far. You will need to make sure that you connect those ideas back to the assignment question about romance: how romantic tropes are used to sell things [review the Hollows chapter on Romantic Fiction carefully, she very carefully lays them out for you] and to keep women in a subordinate social position. E.g.: love is more important than eating what one wants in the subway ad; see my comment on the retro Pepsi ad; etc. Just make sure that the very good analysis your doing already gets directed to the assignment question.
